Biography

I am a graduate student from Stockholm University, Sweden. I obtained my BS and MS at babes-Bolyai University in my hometown Cluj Napoca, Romania in 2001 and 2002, respectively. As part of my graduate studies and based on previous work at LLNL I obtained a Licentiate of Philosophy in Physics degree from Stockholm University last year (2004).

Before joining the High Pressure Physics group I used Positron Annihilation Spectroscopy to study defects in materials. My current research interest includes, but is not limited to, the study of pure methane under extreme conditions – high pressure and temperature. Some of my time is also spent on improving external heating techniques for the diamond anvil cells.
