Biography

I like to apply new experimental capabilities to measure physical and chemical properties of materials at extreme conditions using a diamond anvil cell. Recent advances in synchrotron radiation technology have brought to the DAC community experimental capabilities beyond the usual P,T conditions to examine new physical, chemical, thermodynamic, and mechanical properties of materials at extreme conditions.

I spend most of my research effort collecting x-ray diffraction at various synchrotron facilities (SSRL, NSLS, ESRF, APS, Spring-8) to understand material behavior at high pressure and high temperature. The types of material that I am interested in studying range from simple molecular solids, metals and alloys to complicated silicates.
